Santa Barbara Zoo

Last weekend we all went to the zoo. It was a lot of fun, I love zoos :) And as you can tell by the pictures, so does Colby ;)

Flamingos. These were always my mom's favorite at the zoo, so we would always take pictures by them, I couldn't resist :)

After the zoo a few of us went to downtown Santa Barbara. It was fun to just walk around and look at everything, but, note to self, do not bring the stroller next time, the stores here are not made for such contraptions! I was knocking stuff over left and right!!

This one is for Uncle Tyler!!

Tonight while I was giving Colby his bath, he begged me to make a sign for Uncle Tyler. He told me he would hold it while I took his picture. So, of course, I did!! Uncle Tyler is able to check out our blog if he has time on his P-Day after he has emailed the family. Plus...how could you pass this smile up??

It took us a few tries to get the perfect picture. Bless his little heart...he was just so excited to hold the sign for the picture :) He couldn't hold still, his arms and legs were going a mile a minute!!

But we did manage to get some good pictures, these are the best we had.

A pretty eventful weekend

Saturday

Some of the wives and I had the opportunity to attend the Oxnard Strawberry Festival. We had heard from quite a few locals, that this was the place to go. People come from all over to partake in the festivities!

They come dressed in their "Strawberry best". This wasn't the only lady wearing strawberry embelished clothing...if only we would have known, we too would have dressed the part! :)

They did have everything Strawberry...Strawberry nachos, Strawberry Pizza, strawberry shortcake, strawberry smoothies, strawberry lemonade, chocolate dipped strawberries...you get the idea.

After a long hot day and a very salty burrito, and standing in line for Deal or No Deal (which was longer than the 5 minutes the girl told us it would be, we ended up getting out of line to go sit in the shade to feed Colby) we decided our time there was done. I mean who would want to pass this up?!? In the end, we decided it was a good use of a Saturday (the day our husbands work the longest) because it took up time, but we all decided it wasn't really worth the $12 we paid to get in. :( Sorry Oxnard Strawberry Festival, you just weren't for me. I most likely will not be coming back to enjoy your strawberry festivities.

Sunday

After church on Sunday we decided to take an office trip to the beach. This was Colby's first time there. I think he liked it!! (notice my red arm...that is the souvenier i picked up at the Strawberry Festival)



We didn't see much of Troy while we were there ( we pretty much had to just hang out under the umbrella). He is, however, in this picture, he's the one on the left, you can only see about half of him. And no, I don't know what everyone is looking at, but it must have been PRETTY interesting :)

Overall, we had a very fun weekend. Oh, AND, I cut Troy's hair after the beach. I only have one picture, it is Troy trying to do it himself cause I started getting nervous. But in the end, I did most of the haircut, and to tell you the truth...it doesn't look all that bad. Supposedly Troy has a list of guys in the office who want to come over to have me cut their hair now. The pressure is on!! But I guess I found my calling in life...Mom, Wife, and Hairdresser :) We'll see about that one. I think the first two fit me best :)

Me, I won't let Troy, he doesn't divide the clothes into the right groups ;)

Right now I do, but at home (in Utah) Troy does, because the left side is closer to the door for when I need to get up for Colby

When we are in Utah, definitely Troy's. But now that we are in Cali mine. They are making up for all the years I didn't get to see them as much

A little scary :)

A few things Colby is enjoying these days

Now that we have come to California, Colby has found a few new things he likes to do with his time!! Lucky for me he did them all today so I got some pictures of them. He thinks he is so cool with his new tricks ;) Enjoy!!

1st: He has figured out how to get his fist to his mouth

2nd: (this was actually taken with my phone a couple days ago) Cuddling with his new silky/fuzzy blankie. He likes to have it right over his face, so he only gets it if I can watch his every move!

3rd: He loves chatting with mom, I know you can't hear him, but you can tell what he is doing in this picture. Pretty much he is my little buddy :)

4th: He knows that when I pull out the camera he should smile for a picture. What a smart little cookie!

5th: Did I mention his fist?? I can't keep the thing out of his mouth! Bless his heart, both his hands now always smell like spit!! Good thing he also loves baths!

6th: He will spit up a little in his mouth and keep it there, then talk to me so it gurgles in his throat. He really thinks that is cool!

Isn't he sooo talented?? We are such proud parents!! ;)
